On June 3 2025, the Stuttgart Research Center Systems Biology (SRCSB) hosted the SRCSB Day 2025, bringing together scientists across disciplines to present and discuss cutting-edge research in systems biology. Held at the University of Stuttgart, the event featured a rich program of talks, posters, and networking opportunities.
The day began with a welcome address and continued with three thematic sessions chaired by Prof Ralf Takors, Jun-Prof. Nieves Peltzer and Prof. Markus Morrison:
- Session 1 – From molecules to cells
Focused on cellular heterogeneity, stress responses, and molecular mechanisms of regulation. - Session 2 – From genes to molecules
Addressed gene regulation, chromatin biology, and cell migration in engineered systems. - Session 3 – New capacities
Highlighted advances in digital biology, biofabrication, and synthetic biology.
The scientific program concluded with the keynote lecture by Prof. Uri Alon, recipient of the Ernst Dieter Gilles Award in 2025, who gave an inspiring talk on "Simplifying inflammation and fibrosis."
The event concluded with an informal get-together and party at the Unithekle, offering a relaxed atmosphere for continued exchange and networking.
Once again, SRCSB Day 2025 showcased the strength and diversity of the systems biology community in Stuttgart.
