SRCSB Award for interdisciplinary theses

13. November 2023

For BSc, MSc and PhD theses completed and marked between 01.11.2022 and 31.10.2023

One of the cornerstones from which the SRCSB draws its strength is collaboration across traditional disciplinary boundaries. The SRCSB supports these interactions at all levels of research and teaching. In recognition of achievements, particularly in the promotion of young researchers, from now until 15 December 2023
theses (BSc, MSc and doctoral theses) can be submitted to the office for recognition of their interdisciplinarity.

In this year's call, theses that have been completed and marked between 01.11.2022 and 31.10.2023 can be considered. Eligible for submission are final evaluated theses that are explicitly the result of active collaborative research between two or more institutions and under the joint supervision of SRCSB members, and that are thematically relevant to Systems Biology. The theses will be made available to the SRCSB Board of Directors for review. To be considered for an award, please send the thesis to the SRCSB office (cathrin.hagenlocher@srcsb.uni-stuttgart.de) together with the grade and an informal explanation of why the above criteria have been met. Submissions may be made by the students themselves or by their supervisors.

Participating students will receive a certificate of the interdisciplinary value of the work for SRCSB activities will be issued. In addition, the participating institutes will receive a modest subsidy from the SRCSB for the expenses incurred in the course of the work.
